Music begins with Finale.
Finale 2010—the world’s most powerful music notation software—lets you express your creativity and love of music. Compose, arrange, notate and print engraver-quality sheet music.
What’s New in Finale 2010
Percussion Notation: Finale has always offered unparalleled power and flexibility with percussion notation—now it’s also incredibly easy to use! It's easy to enter: simply drag the cursor over the staff and on-screen feedback indicates whether you’re about to enter a snare, bass drum or other percussion instrument. With the automatic playback configuration, your snare will playback with a snare sound, and so forth, without any manual intervention. Easily re-map your percussion playback without changing your score. Change playback from one instrument library to another or to an external midi device.
Automatic Rehearsal Marks: Finale has automated the process of creating rehearsal marks in your score. Use one keystroke to quickly enter rehearsal marks anywhere in your score, and Finale automatically sequences them correctly regardless of what order you enter them. Rehearsal marks are dynamically updated if you delete, insert or move any rehearsal mark or measure.
Music Education Worksheets: Finale now includes more than 300 ready-made, customizable music education worksheets. Designed for K-12 students of general music, theory, band, orchestra and choir, these educator-approved worksheets help teach basic elements of music. Worksheet topics include circle of fifths, grand staff and note names, sharps and flats, counting and rhythm exercises, scales, chords, intervals, music vocabulary, rounds, puzzles and more.
Chords: New and improved in Finale 2010, you can change or delete notes without changing your chords, enter chords before entering notes, create chord-only charts and attach chords to measures and have the chords appear and playback exactly how you wish. On-screen feedback lets you instantly see what beat or measure each chord is attached to even if you manually reposition your chords. Chords and fretboards automatically resize as your page resizes, and you have easy scaling controls for fretboards and chords in document options.
Garritan: Finale 2010 includes more than 350 world-class instrument sounds from the makers of Garritan Personal Orchestra. Free sounds include orchestral instruments, jazz brass, saxophones, piano, choirs, drum set, guitar, organ, handbells, marching percussion, world instruments and more!
Music Fonts: Introducing the Broadway Copyist font (pictured below), created by Robert P., designer of the esteemed November and Medieval music fonts. Inspired by the golden era of handwritten Broadway scores, the Broadway Copyist font offers a lighter, classic appearance, a cleaner look with greater legibility (especially with text), expanded support of upper ASCI characters and improved cross-platform capability.

VST/AU Support and Updated Aria Player: Finale now supports all third-party VST/AU Instruments and Effects, providing users with unlimited sonic possibilities. Updated for Finale 2010, the Garritan Aria Player simplifies the process of changing MIDI channel assignments.
